How To Resolve Bad Posture Problems And Back pain

Have you ever come across someone who just can’t help but slouch all the time? Or maybe you find yourself slouching lately due to a posture you have to maintain while at work or home or work at home nowadays.

Either way, slouching isn’t a position you want to be in for any reason and in this article we are going to be looking at why that it and how you can fix it before it causes permanent changes.

Slouching doesnt only ruin your  posture but it also has a  ton of negative effects on your health and self esteem.

The truth is that most of us have in one point or the other in time fallen victim to this bad posture. And the worst thing is that we are not conscious of the fact that we are actually slouching.

It usually takes a friend or someone who cares about you to point out that you are slouching. Slouching is one of the major causes of bad posture. 

It could also occur due to having the same posture for hours, examples include: being in front of your laptop or even having your chair set in an uncomfortable way while you are driving.

And some of which I will be mentioning are ones I have actually suffered from myself. And you are going to find out how I recovered and broke the habit.

Back Pain

We’ll start this off with one of the first signs or as I’d like to call it “headaches of slouching”. What I found annoying was the fact that everyone kept on repeating the same thing “How old are you that you are already complaining of back pain”, when I suffered from one.

The term back pain has been associated with old age for so long (athough it’s true) that having it as a young and healthy adult just seems unreal!

But in reality backpain is not a respecter of age. It can happen to anyone really. 

 Another set of people kept on insisting it was sugar and I needed to take one of those native herbs that tastes like… well you know what.

I knew what the problem was but how would I explain that there are three important spinal curves: one in your neck, one in your upper-to-mid-back, and one in your lower back.

Each spine is placed in its perfect form and simply making unnatural changes to it by holding a bad posture such as slouching could lead to some serious pain.

It might seem like it’s just your spine are at risk here (like that isn’t bad enough) but remember how much the spine meant to the body back in biology class?

Well, let us just say that it could lead to a whole lot of other problems that would leave how the public sees your bad posture as the least of your problems.

Like the fact that you have to endure pains in your spine isn’t enough now you are prone to a whole lot of injuries? Just from slouching?

A misaligned spine pulls on different muscles, overworking some, and shortening others. This leaves you at very high risk when it comes to sports and worse, working out.

Amazingly, posture seems to affect people’s emotions. Good posture eases the symptoms of depression and helps people feel better after difficult events. It even helps people feel less fatigued and have more positive emotions.

If you think of it, information that passes from the body to your brain has to go through your spine. So you want to keep that bridge as healthy, strong and balanced as can be.


Keeping a bad posture compresses the space in the abdomen. This squeezes the internal organs and impairs digestion.

How Safe Are Nose Mask Against Covid-19

A few weeks ago my buddy and I were having a little debate on how much to how little procedure people are using to prevent the spread of the covid-19 virus in the country.

And to be honest with you things got a little bit of hand as conclusions, theories and all sorts of ideas came into the argument, I mean debate.

Frankly speaking, I would say the general public is doing a shockingly amazing job in preventing the spread of covid-19. I mean the other day I stepped out of the house in such a hurry I forgot to carry my face mask with me.

And as I walked or literally ran my way to the supermarket I couldn’t help but notice… you guessed it. I was pretty much the only one not putting a on nose mask.

Like that wasn’t uncomfortable enough, I was halted at the supermarket and asked to return when I had my face mask on. I practically had to plead with a bunch of people before a gentleman agreed to help me get what it was that I wanted to buy. So what’s my point exactly?

With procedures as tight as the one I faced being practiced all around the country why are the numbers still rising. I vividly remember when the number of infected were just 13, and well I am guessing you already know the current digit.

Moving one this had me thinking, perhaps there’s something missing somewhere, and at that moment I decided to do a little bit of research on Nose masks.


Well for two reasons mainly…

Firstly, of recent nose masks are worn by literally every soul in the country and thanks to this a whole lot of prototypes have been springing forth.

One minute we were all buying well fabricated surgical mask and the other everyone is trying to look fashionable by replacing that mask with the same piece of Ankara fabric that rocks every Thanksgiving Sunday.

Remind me how many current cases we are at now?

Remember I said the debate with me buddy got a little out of hand, well there’s the bone of the matter.

The second reason why I decided to research this is because, last I checked the virus wasn’t just passed through the mouth or nose, imagine being sneezed on by an infected person straight up. It won´t matter how heavy or light your mask is when that happens.

It’s no different if you mistakenly touch an infected area and then scratch or touch your nose or eye afterward. Honestly not everyone remembers to wash.

So what did I come up with after my research?

For starters just like I speculated, Do It Yourself (DIY) Mask isn’t as safe as the population takes it to be.

According to a research conducted at Cambridge University a wide range of popularly used household items were tested to measure their effectiveness against bacterias such as covid-19.

Let’s start by saying that the average surgical mask captures an astonishing 97% of the virus. Silk 58%, Linen 60%, Scarf 62%, 100% cotton 69%, Cotton Blend 74%, Dish Towel 83%.

The stats don’t look too bad right? Well the test above shows the result of 1-Micron particles against DIY mask. The corona virus is actually just 0.02 Microns, that’s about 10 times smaller if you ask me. So shall we take the test again?

This time Scarf falls down to 49%, Cotton to 51% , Silk 54%, Linen 62%, Cotton blend 70%, and Dish Towel 73%.

So basically you are at risk wearing most of those fancy looking nose mask.

Another test was done afterward of which the layers were doubled and surprisingly there was little to no changes found! 

Come to think of it, I remember coming across a lady at the pharmacy a few days back.

Her mask was so light I could clearly see her lips through it, this other time I saw a man covering his mouth only and forgetting his nose. Vice versa on other occasions also.

So you can imagine just how unsafe things can get when it comes to putting on nose mask.

And what I find puzzling is how people who actually go about this the right way are laughed at and mocked. On a serious note though, there are now accounts and websites whose sole purpose is to make fun of the type of mask people are currently using nowadays.

But let’s face it though; it really is the best way out of this.

Now I am not going to advise you to get a helmet or a mask similar to something firefighters wear (As I have seen a couple of people using these). They are very safe alright, but at this point in time, hurting your wallet isn’t something you want to be doing. In other words the are expensive.

Now stores, restaurants, and malls are now running in parts of China, it’s only a matter of time before school comes back up. Last I checked the number of new cases was about 6 to 12 within a week frame!

I don’t think I need to drop the number of cases that china faced everyday when the virus was at its peak.

However I find it sad that some people will rather stick to funny ideas and choose to think that china has the cure and decided not to share it with the general public. Well there is no cure, just safety precautions that could be taken, in other words prevention.

What I find scary is the fact that the number of new cases will only continue to rise as the previous. This is because like I said earlier on, the right steps to preventing covid-19  are not being taken.

Being asked to stay indoors 24/7 has shown to be a waste of time as we all have one or two things to do during the day.

From getting foodstuff to working, (for those who still have their jobs) going to the Atm and all sorts of important daily tasks. Speaking of which, the bank has caught my attention lately as one of the most crowded places.  

It’d be advised that you use a hand sanitizer and to not hesitate where ever you see a chance to wash your hands. You really can’t tell how many hands have pushed that same button or door you just came in contact with.

Stopping the spread of the covid-19 virus isn’t something that would happen overnight. It isn’t something that would happen without you taking action even.

China had to suffer a great loss of its citizens before taking the right steps into fighting the covid-19 virus. It doesn’t have to be the same here. With your action we could all prevent the spread and see the end of covid-19 once and for all.

Let’s be honest here, even we you don’t openly admit it, we all miss how life was before the covid-19 virus, we miss the beach, hanging out with friends, celebrating birthdays, eating at your favorite restaurant and even the traffic.
